I really like the most features of the bag. The reusing of tarp, it being waterproof, and individuality of the pieces. I've only had the bag for a week, so have yet to see it wear, but there are a couple things to note that mean it isn't *perfect*:
- very spartan functionally - there's only the main compartment with a laptop sleeve. This limits quick access, potentially can't have this without a fair amount of re-engineering (front zip pocket please? I'd like somewhere to put my book for the train) the same goes for water bottle side pockets, I'm always nervous putting a bottle in the main compartment! These are significant enough drawbacks for me that I may try modifying the bag.
-the fact that the tarp on this model extends to the rolling part of the bag (it looks like another model won't have this issue) makes rolling a little awkward though not insurmountable, and I'm aware of repeated creasing of the tarp and just going to keep an eye in case that compromises the waterproofing.
-the lack of structure to the back. It feels really peculiar to not have any stiffness in the back of the bag! I'm glad I'm almost always carrying my laptop, so it gives the bag some structure. When without the laptop I've put something in the pocket to stiffen the bag, perhaps this should be provided.
However, the straps are far more comfortable than I expected, the pack is lovely and compact though being able to fit a surprising amount (deceptively deep). For the price, this feels a very nice basic pack, I'm glad I bought it.
M24 bags are designed from recycled truck tarpaulin. Each bag we make is totally unique because of the variety of lorry curtains (truck tarps) we collect. We're always uploading new products so be sure to check back.
