We met up with Brodie (photographer guru) from Toronto to find out what makes him tick? We choose our questions carefully...
1. Describe yourself in a tweet#?
#thenomadbarista
2. What inspired you to get into photography?
I think it was through skateboarding actually. I remember wanting a small point and shoot to go out and get skate clips with my friends and make little videos. Then I started bringing that thing around with me everywhere and documenting my every day life. This was before camera phones (or at least before I had a camera phone -- I was a bit behind), and I literally had it in my back pocket 24/7. I decided to buy a DSLR before moving to China for the first time, and with the inspiration of travel, it just escalated from there.
3. Describe a typical day in the life of Brodie?
Haha, I'm not sure there is a typical day. I'm really bad with routine, so they're always pretty different, but they usually start with making myself a coffee and seeing where things go from there. I just moved to Barcelona so it's been a lot of biking around to various meetings, planning for upcoming projects, taking photos and editing photos for my website, and cafe pit-stops to reconnect with old contacts. I can't stay in one place for too long anyways, so this is ideal.
4. If you had the opportunity to send a Snapchat to the Queen - what would you send?
I do have Lizzie on Snapchat actually. I sent her this video of me playing accordion on my bike, and she formally invited me to come perform as a jester in her courts, so a visit to the UK is definitely in order.

5. You're moving back to Spain right? What are your plans? Coming to the UK?
Yeah, so I just made the move this week, and it's been amazing. I plan to continue working on photography projects with local and global brands, as well as get immersed in the local coffee scene whether as a Barista or event organizer. I'll also be cycling across the country within the month, so I've been training for that as well. I'll definitely be popping by the UK as soon as possible. I was 3 the last time I was around your parts :).
6. What is your favourite image you've ever taken? (doesn't have to be an M-24 one)
I'm also really bad with favourites, haha. I probably have many, depending on the category and story behind it, but one that does come to mind was one that my brother and I took a few years ago. I think it was a few days after Valentines Day, and we somehow came up with this concept of throwing a deck of cards straight at the camera with the Ace of Hearts taking centre frame. I had the camera on a tripod and on a timer, and I think it took us like 50 tries of throwing and posing before we got one that was clear.
7. If people want to contact you, what's the best way?
Email or Instagram DM works best.
Tinder might also be effective, just swipe right.
